Interregnum

With the departure of David Pickering in September 2022, we are currently in an Interregnum.
This is a period of time for reflection for the Church Family in our Parish. This period allows us to reflect on what God is calling us to do, as we seek to grow in our own faith and as we continue to serve the communities in which we live.

Typically interregnums last around a year or two before the appointment of a new vicar. The process is steered by our Church Wardens (Chris Carpenter & Ian Blelloch) in conjunction with support from the Diocese and our Patrons (St. John's College, Oxford).

After further discussions with the Diocese, and in the light of no suitable applicants to date, we have revised our Parish Profile and plan to post adverts in the Spring (2024) for a half-time position as vicar of the Parish.
The timetable is:
  • Advertising - from Friday 12th April
  • Closing - Tuesday 30th April
  • Shortlisting - Thursday 2nd May
  • Interviews - Friday 17th May

Our Interregnum Prayer:
O God, our Heavenly Father, giver of all good gifts.
You know the needs of your church in every place.
We trust in you as we ask you to hear our prayer.
Look graciously on us at this time of vacancy and send
us a new vicar who will serve you faithfully, wisely and with humility,
to the good of your church in our village, the growth of your Kingdom and the glory of your name.
Amen
